Elvis Presley wurde bis 1978 vierzehn Mal für den Grammy nominiert, den er drei Mal für seine Gospelinterpretationen gewann. Im Alter von 36 Jahren wurde er als bis dahin jüngster Künstler mit dem Lifetime Achievement Award ausgezeichnet. Elvis Presley ist neben Michael Jackson als einziger Künstler in fünf Halls of Fame vertreten: Rock ’n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Country, Blues und Gospe. Ferner wurden sechs seiner Songinterpretationen als historisch besonders bedeutsam in die Grammy Hall of Fame aufgenommen. Laut der Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) hat er zudem mit 167 Einheiten die meisten Gold- und Platin-Auszeichnungen sowie einen Diamond-Award. Die RIAA zeichnete ihn wiederholt als „Best Selling Solo Artist in U.S. History“ aus.
